Buttering.
バタリング
ノーズ/テールに荷重し板をしならせて滑る
How to
Step by stepOn a gentle slope, glide straight with the board flat and both knees slightly bent.
Keep your eyes on where you're heading and your shoulders level with the slope.
For a nose press (pressing the nose down so the tail lifts): bend your front knee deeply and bring your hips directly over your front foot, shifting about 80% of your weight toward the toes of the front foot.
Let your back foot extend slightly and drive down through the front foot as if pushing the nose into the snow. The front half of the board flexes and the tail lifts.
For a tail press (pressing the tail down so the nose lifts) it's the opposite.
Bend your back knee deeply, stack your hips over your back foot, and move 80% of your weight toward the heel of the back foot. Extend your front foot to push the tail down, and the back half of the board flexes and the nose lifts.
While one end is lifted, tip the shin of your extended leg slightly forward to lock the ankle, keeping a steady force pushing back against the flexed board.
Always keep your center of mass directly over the foot you're loading.
To switch between nose and tail, first bring your hips back to the center of the board, then move them over the opposite foot.
Switch using hip movement front-to-back only, without leaning your upper body.
Tips & common mistakes
In the app — learn while you logLoad one foot by moving your hips front-to-back, not by pumping your legs up and down. Carrying your hips directly over the loading foot lets you press hard while staying upright and balanced.
The board won't flex → too little weight on the front foot (nose press) or back foot (tail press); weight is split between both feet. → Bend the loading knee deeper and carry your hips right over that foot to put 80% of your weight on it.
