Switch Tail Press.
スイッチテールプレス
スイッチスタンスでのテールプレス
How to
Step by stepStart riding switch (your non-dominant foot leading) in a straight, stable line.
In switch, your usual front foot becomes the back foot, and this back foot is the one that presses the tail (the rear of the board). Lock that in first.
Set up with both knees slightly bent and your eyes fixed a little ahead on your line.
Looking down tips your upper body forward and keeps you off the back foot.
Keep your upper body stacked directly over the line through your back knee and toes, then ease the pressure out of your front foot (your usual back foot).
Quietly shift your weight over the back foot.
Gather your weight toward the heel side of that back foot, on the rear of your arch.
The more weight you settle over the tail, the lighter the nose becomes and the less force it takes to lift.
Once the nose lifts, draw the back hip slightly back to drop your pelvis while keeping your upper body upright to hold balance.
If your hips stay forward, you can't fully settle onto the back foot and the lift drops.
Keep your eyes down your line and hold the feeling of being supported on the single back foot as you ride.
Start with short 2-3 meter holds and extend gradually.
Tips & common mistakes
In the app — learn while you logIn switch, your usual front foot is now behind you. Stop first and load only that foot so your body learns which foot to press before you start moving.
The nose won't lift → your weight isn't fully on the foot now behind you (your usual front foot). Release the front foot and drop your weight straight down onto the heel side of the back foot.
