Switch Nose Press.
スイッチノーズプレス
スイッチスタンスでのノーズプレス
How to
Step by stepStart riding switch straight down a gentle slope.
In switch your normal back foot becomes the front foot, so first get comfortable running straight with weight even on both feet before you try the press.
Bend the knee of your leading (switch front) foot and shift your weight onto that foot, spreading it across the whole sole from the ball of the foot to the heel.
Unweight the rear foot almost completely so you feel like you're riding on the front half of the board only.
Stack your upper body directly over the front foot.
The key is bringing your hips over that foot, not just your head — dropping the head forward digs the nose in and can pitch you over the front. Keep your chest up and bring your belly over the front foot.
As the tail lifts off the snow, hold the bent angle of your front knee and freeze it there.
Once your weight is fully on the front foot the tail rises on its own, so don't try to yank the rear foot up.
Look a few meters ahead in your direction of travel, not at the nose, and keep riding while balancing on that single front foot.
Start with one or two meters and extend the distance once you can hold it steadily.
Tips & common mistakes
In the app — learn while you logThink "put all my weight on the front foot" rather than "lift the tail." Once your weight gathers over the front, the back goes light by itself and the tail comes up.
Too scared to commit, so the tail won't lift → you're keeping insurance weight on the rear foot. Build the feeling of full commitment on the flat first, lifting the tail while stopped, then take it to the slope.
