Backside Nose Slide.
BSノーズスライド
バックサイド方向にノーズをスライド
How to
Step by stepOn a gentle slope, glide down the fall line at a slow, walking-pace speed.
Too much speed makes the nose dig in and pitch you forward, so keep it just above a stop.
Set up the nose press.
Bend your front knee and shift your weight onto the ball of your front foot, while your back leg stays lightly extended to keep the tail floating. Picture stacking your chest over your front foot.
Keep the nose edge from catching by holding the base flat against the snow.
Commit your weight to the front foot here so the nose becomes a solid pivot point.
Just before you start to spin, send your eyes and head toward the backside (heel-side, away from your toes) first.
The backside view closes off for a moment, so leading with your gaze gives your body a direction to follow.
Following your eyes, turn from your hips (pelvis) toward the backside, not from your shoulders.
Leading with the hips lets the unweighted tail slide out sideways. Aim your belly button to face across your line of travel rather than twisting with the upper body alone.
As the tail swings around, hold the ball-of-the-front-foot pressure and keep the base flat.
If you press down on your back heel, the heel edge bites and stops you, so let the back leg go soft and just ride along.
Once the board is sideways, stop your hip rotation before you overspin.
Extend the front knee slightly, bring your weight back to the center of the board, release the nose press, and return to a balanced, even stance.
Tips & common mistakes
In the app — learn while you logBefore riding, practice turning only your hips to the backside while standing still in a nose press. Feeling the tail slip sideways at a standstill makes it far easier to do it in motion.
The board won't turn out of fear → you can't see where you're going on the backside, so your hips freeze. Fix: send your head and eyes to the backside first, then let your hips chase your gaze. Keep the order eyes → hips → board.
