Switch Riding.
スイッチライディング
メインスタンスと逆向きで滑る(グラトリの大前提)
How to
Step by stepOn flat ground or a gentle slope, stand with your stance reversed — your usual lead foot goes in back, and your usual back foot goes in front.
Start standing still so your body learns which foot is now the front and which is the back.
Bend both knees slightly (about 120–130 degrees) and square your belly button and both shoulders to the new direction of travel.
The first thing that breaks down in switch is the hips and shoulders staying twisted toward your old direction, so turn your whole upper body to face the new way here.
Set your weight evenly between both feet, with your balance point right over the arches, and start sliding slowly.
Old habits pull your weight onto one foot, so consciously keep it even.
Once you can ride straight, fix your gaze 3–5 meters ahead in the direction of travel.
Looking down at your feet or the nose drops your head and drags your weight back or inward, which catches an edge.
When straight riding feels stable, practice big, gentle S-turns.
Switch edges at half your normal speed, rolling deliberately from the toe (front of foot) edge to the heel edge.
Practice both frontside and backside turns, starting at about half your normal stance speed and building up gradually once you feel steady.
Tips & common mistakes
In the app — learn while you logBefore you move, while standing still, alternate gently weighting only the new front foot, then only the new back foot. Moving makes "which is which" confusing, so teaching your body each foot's role at a standstill steadies your takeoff.
Sudden edge-catch falls → you're switching edges too fast, so the board goes flat between the toe and heel edges and the edge opposite to where you want to go snags the snow → switch edges at half your usual speed and keep your gaze far down the slope so your head stays up.
