Frontside Tail Slide.
FSテールスライド
フロントサイド方向にテールをスライド
How to
Step by stepOn a gentle slope, build a slightly-faster-than-comfortable speed and ride with the board flat (neither edge engaged), close to a straight line.
The board slows hard once it turns sideways, so a little extra speed lets you finish the rotation.
Bend both knees softly (around 30 to 40 degrees) and shift your weight slightly back so about 60 to 70 percent sits over the tail (the back of the board).
Keep your hips at a medium height, stacked roughly over your back-foot heel.
Before turning the board, lead with your eyes and shoulders toward the frontside (the side your toes face, the front of your body).
Letting the upper body go first pulls the lower body and board around with much less effort.
Pivoting around the back foot, send your hips and front foot the same frontside direction, swinging the nose (front of the board) across the slope.
Think of spinning the board like a compass around a point under the back foot, rather than kicking with the front foot.
Once the board sits sideways to the fall line (the direction down the slope), keep your weight back over the tail and hold the base nearly flat, with the edge only lightly grazing the snow.
A fully engaged edge bites and stops you, so keep it laid over and scrub speed by brushing the snow.
Keep looking where you want to go (out to the side).
Looking at your feet folds the upper body forward, pushes weight onto the front foot, lifts the tail, and kills the spin.
To exit, return your shoulders and hips toward your direction of travel and the board follows.
At the same time stop favoring the back foot, bring your weight back to center (between both feet), and roll out flat.
Tips & common mistakes
In the app — learn while you logYou slow down sideways because the laid-over edge and base brush against the snow. Too much edge angle bites and stalls you; too flat and you just keep sliding. Search for a light, full-foot contact over the tail.
Board won't turn sideways → trying to twist with the upper body alone while shoulders and hips lock together. Lead in order (eyes, shoulders, hips) and send the front foot around a point under the back foot.
