How to
Step by stepRide a gentle-to-moderate slope at a steady medium speed and drop into a deep carved turn on your heel (heel) edge.
Keep your knees softly bent and your upper body facing your direction of travel.
In the second half of the turn, when you feel the board flex and want to spring back, shift about 60 percent of your weight onto your back foot's heel and lighten the front foot.
This sets your back foot as the pivot point.
With the board still on the snow, pre-twist your shoulders and hips toward the way you want to spin, and send your eyes to where you're heading.
Pre-twisting loads your body so its rebound pulls the board around and starts the rotation.
As your twisted upper body unwinds, press lightly into the snow with your back-foot heel and slide the board around its tail (rear).
No jump — keep the board on the snow the whole time.
When you reach the angle you want, fix your gaze down the new line and stop the rotation while re-engaging the edge for your new direction.
Catching the edge early keeps you from over-rotating and lets you flow straight back into carving.
Tips & common mistakes
In the app — learn while you logThe turning force comes from pre-twisting your shoulders and hips, not from swinging your arms. The more you wind up first, the harder your body unwinds and spins the board. Use the arms only as a small assist.
The board lifts off the snow and you can't finish the spin → you're standing up tall as you turn, which dumps the weight off your heel. Stay bent and keep pressing the snow with your back-foot heel throughout.
