Carve to Tail Press.
カービング→テールプレス
カービング中にテールプレスに移行
How to
Step by stepOn a medium slope, settle into a steady, controllable speed that keeps the board carving without stalling.
Link 2-3 front-foot-led carves at about 70% front / 30% back, locking the toe and heel edges into clean arcs to build rhythm. Keep your eyes on the exit of the arc ahead.
Pick one turn for the press.
Set up late in the turn, just before the exit where the board comes most across the slope and the outward (centrifugal) pull is strongest. Don't rush here, and keep the board tilted on edge for now.
As you reach the exit, bend the back-foot knee and send your hips slightly back over the tail, shifting weight smoothly from 70% front / 30% back to 30% front / 70% back.
At the same time lightly extend the front-foot knee to release pressure off the nose, and the nose lifts on its own. Think of settling onto the back foot rather than kicking the nose up.
Hold the back-foot knee at about 70-80 degrees and stack your hips directly over the back-foot heel.
Keep your upper body slightly forward, not arched back, moving your belly button toward the tail as you enter the press. Eyes stay down the fall line. Let the edge flatten near the exit and ride on the loaded tail with the nose up.
Hold the press for 1-3 seconds.
Keep pushing the snow through the whole sole of the back foot (toward the heel), and fine-tune how high the nose floats with small forward/back shifts of your upper body.
To exit, don't yank the weight off the back foot.
Bend the front-foot knee and set the nose back down onto the snow, returning slowly from 30% front / 70% back to 70% front / 30% back. Once the nose lands, tilt into the next turn and resume carving.
Tips & common mistakes
In the app — learn while you logThe outward pull of the carve drags your body to the outside at the turn exit, so leaning back into it makes the nose go light without any kick. That's why timing the press to the exit is the easiest way in.
The move from carve to press feels jerky and steps in suddenly → you're shifting all the weight back at once at the exit. Move continuously to 30% front / 70% back over one to two seconds and tie it to the front-knee extension for a smooth blend.
