Boned Out.

How to
Step by stepBefore hitting the kicker, pick one solid grab to commit to: an Indy (grabbing the toe edge between the feet) or a Mute (also on the toe edge).
Start with a straight air, no spin, so you have room to shape the trick in the air.
At the lip, bend both your front and back knees evenly and pop straight up with your hips stacked over the board.
Leaning forward or sitting back will let your body drift once you extend a leg, so keep your shoulders and hips parallel to the board.
Just before you reach the top of your jump, get your hand to the board and grab first.
Connecting your body to the board early keeps the board from getting pulled away when you extend your leg. For a front-foot bone grab with your back hand; for a back-foot bone grab with your front hand, so the grabbing hand stays clear of the leg you extend.
[Front-foot bone-out] Holding the grab with your back hand, straighten your front leg almost fully (knee at 170-180 degrees) and push your hip forward so the leg shoots straight out toward the nose (front).
At the same time fold your back knee past 90 degrees to create contrast with the extended front leg. Look just past the nose.
[Back-foot bone-out] Holding the grab with your front hand, straighten your back leg to 170-180 degrees and open your hip so the leg shoots out toward the tail (back).
Keep your front knee folded past 90 degrees. Keep your eyes on your landing in the direction of travel, not back toward the tail.
At the peak of the jump, hold the extended shape for a beat.
Keep pulling the board toward you with your grabbing hand so the board stays steady against the pull of the extended leg.
As you start to drop, fold the extended knee to bring both feet back under you, then release the grab.
Bend both knees to bring the whole base flat to the snow and absorb the landing through your knees and hips.
Tips & common mistakes
In the app — learn while you logStraighten the working leg fully to 170-180 degrees. A half-bent leg reads as "still tucked" and the bone shape disappears. Lock the knee straight and push from the hip to get a clean line.
The leg looks bent instead of straight → you straightened the knee but left the hip collapsed → besides locking the knee, push the whole leg from the hip toward the nose (front foot) or the tail (back foot).
