Tail Press (Box).
テールプレス(ボックス上)
ボックス上でテール側に荷重しノーズを浮かせる
How to
Step by stepApproach the box at a steady, moderate speed with the board flat (50-50).
If you slow down too much the board gets twitchy, so keep just enough speed to avoid stalling. Look at the far end (the exit) of the box, not at your feet. Looking down folds your upper body forward and shifts your weight off the tail.
Once on the box, settle for a beat with weight even on both feet.
Bend your front knee to about 20-30 degrees and your back knee to about 40-50 degrees, and point your hips parallel to the long edge of the box. If your hips face at an angle, the board tracks at an angle and slides off the side.
When you feel stable, press down slowly through the ball of your back foot (the pad behind your big toe) and send your whole hips back over the back foot, just slightly toward the tail.
Move from the hips, not just the ankle: as your body weight gathers over the back foot, the board's support point moves toward the tail and the nose (front) lifts and floats up.
As the nose starts to lift, hold that amount of weight and freeze it there.
Keep your chest open and lean back from the hips, without rounding your back. Keep pressing with the back foot while the front foot just rests lightly on the board. Keep looking at the exit, not at the rising nose.
As the end of the box approaches, release the pressure from the back foot, bring your hips back to center over both feet, and return the board to flat (50-50).
Ride straight off the box with the board flat and pointed straight ahead.
If the nose is still up at the lip you will pitch forward on landing, so start bringing it down just before the exit.
Tips & common mistakes
In the app — learn while you logKeep the weight on the ball of your back foot. If it drifts toward the heel, the heel edge tips up, catches the corner of the box, suddenly slows you, and throws you forward. Pressing through the ball of the foot keeps the base flat on the box.
Sitting back too far and landing on your seat → you sent your hips back all at once and your weight slid past the tail → stop at the minimum load that lifts the nose. Send your hips back gradually and practice freezing at the exact moment the nose floats up.
