Frontside 720.
FS720
フロントサイドに2回転
How to
Step by stepOn a groomed medium-to-steep slope, build noticeably more speed than for a 540.
A double rotation needs at least 30% more air time than a 540, so set up your run-in to carry real speed.
Just before takeoff, bend both knees deeply (into a deep 70-90 degree squat) and lean your upper body slightly forward, loading onto the heel side.
Send your eyes ahead toward the direction you are about to spin (your front-foot side).
Snap by extending both loaded knees and your heel edge all at once, and at the same instant throw your shoulders and arms in the FS direction (winding from your back side around to the front).
The better you match the pop and the upper-body throw, the more spin you load at the moment you leave the snow. You cannot add spin in the air, so build both rotations right here.
Once you leave the snow, pull your extended arms in toward your chest and tuck your back leg slightly, drawing your whole body thin around its vertical axis.
The closer your arms are to your body, the faster you spin for the same effort, so this is where you earn the speed to finish two rotations.
As you spin, spot your landing (the fall line you first passed) on every revolution and keep track of where you are facing at the end of the second rotation.
If your gaze drifts, you misjudge the spin and land early or late.
Just before completing 720 degrees, open your tucked arms out to the sides to slow the spin, square your hips to your direction of travel, and land in your normal stance on both feet at once.
On contact, sink both knees deeply to absorb the impact, keep your upper body stacked over the board, and ride out with your speed.
Tips & common mistakes
In the app — learn while you logThe prerequisite is a solid, fully rotated FS540. Without the pop and the air tuck that a 540 demands, a 720 will fall short on both height and rotation.
Coming up short of 720 → your arms or back leg drift away from your body in the air, slowing the spin → right after takeoff pull both arms to your chest and tuck the back leg to make your body thin.
