Anti Spin.
アンチスピン
体と板の回転を逆方向にする
How to
Step by stepOn a flat, moderately gliding slope, first make sure you can land a normal frontside 360 (riding on your toe edge, spinning to face forward) consistently in both directions.
Antispin is built by deliberately breaking down a normal spin, so without a solid base the rotation gets out of control.
On approach, bend your knees about 30 to 40 degrees and look slightly ahead in your direction of travel.
Hold both arms loosely in front of your body and keep your shoulder line parallel to your direction of travel.
As you pop, start turning your lower body (hips and both feet) toward the frontside, but at the same time deliberately twist your upper body (shoulders and head) the opposite way, toward the backside.
Swinging the top the other way partly cancels the lower body's spinning momentum. This is what creates the distinctive look of the board's direction and your body's direction being mismatched while you rotate.
Unweight lightly, led by your front foot.
You don't need much air; the board barely leaving the snow is plenty. The higher you jump, the more the upper and lower twist unwinds and reverts to a normal spin.
In the air, brace your core to hold the difference between the upper and lower twist.
Keep your eyes fixed on the point you first picked in your direction of travel so you don't over-rotate. If your gaze gets dragged around by the board's rotation, your lower body spins too far.
Land on both feet at once, bending your knees to absorb the impact, and unwind your twisted upper body so the board's direction and your body's direction line back up.
Releasing the twist exactly at touchdown is the key.
Tips & common mistakes
In the app — learn while you logThe difference from a normal spin is that your upper and lower body stay facing opposite ways while you rotate. Swinging the upper body the other way holds back the lower body's spin, so off the same pop the rotation looks smaller and mismatched. That mismatch is the trick itself.
Upper and lower body turn the same way and it becomes a normal spin → caused by failing to swing the upper body back the opposite way at the pop. Do both at the same moment: turn the lower body frontside while consciously twisting the shoulders backside.
