How to
Step by stepGlide into the brush (artificial-turf ramp) at a slow, steady speed — fast enough not to stall, no faster.
Regular riders keep the left foot forward and look toward the lip (the edge you launch from). Going too fast launches you before you can wind up, so stability comes first.
Just before the lip, bend both knees lightly (about 30 to 40 degrees), drop your hips, and lean your upper body slightly forward to sink down.
This loads a coil before you turn.
As you extend straight up off the lip, rotate your trailing shoulder and hip (the right shoulder for a regular rider) back toward your heel edge at the same moment.
BS180 spins toward your back, so think of pulling the rear shoulder behind you. Build all of your spin in that instant of takeoff — you cannot add to it once you are in the air.
Off the lip, turn your chin over your trailing shoulder and spot your landing early.
Your head and upper body lead, and the board follows. Pull your hands in close to stay compact so the same spin carries you smoothly through the half rotation.
After 180 degrees, land in switch stance (riding the opposite direction) with the board flat and parallel to the water.
Bend your knees deeply (about 60 to 70 degrees) and stay soft in the ankles to soak up the impact.
On touchdown, keep your weight centered over the middle of the board, absorb the sink, stay low, and ride out toward the pool side.
Tips & common mistakes
In the app — learn while you logYour spin is set the instant you leave the lip and cannot grow in the air. The earlier you start rotating your shoulder and hip toward the heel side before takeoff, the more margin you have to finish the half turn.
Landing tipped onto your back → you over-rotated past the half turn. The cause is keeping the shoulder turning after takeoff. Stop the head and upper-body rotation right at 180 degrees and switch to leveling the board just before landing.
