Ski BS Slide.
BSスライド
横向きでレール/ボックスをスライド(バックサイド)
How to
Step by stepApproach the box or rail straight on at a slow, controlled speed that's just fast enough not to stall.
Keep both knees softly bent and both ski bases flat on the snow so neither edge catches.
Just before stepping on, sink through both knees and ankles, then spring up lightly so the skis lift just off the snow.
You don't need a big jump, only enough air to reset them sideways.
While the skis are light, turn your hips and both skis 90 degrees toward your backside (back-facing side).
Keep your head and chest pointed down the box and watch the far end over your left shoulder (right shoulder if you ride goofy). Because your back faces the direction of travel, you have to send your eyes ahead first, or your view suddenly disappears and it feels scary.
Set both skis fully sideways across the box.
The backside ski leads in the direction of travel and the belly-side ski trails behind. Keep both bases flat and your weight even and centered over both skis, right under the arches of your feet.
Slide sideways with your pelvis stacked directly over both skis.
Hold a twisted stance with your upper body facing down the box and only your lower body turned sideways. Keep your eyes on the exit the whole time.
As the end of the box nears, lead with the head and chest you kept facing forward, turning them back to square first, and let that momentum bring your hips and skis 90 degrees back.
Think of turning back only 90 degrees.
Once both skis face forward, soften both knees and ankles to absorb the landing and ride away.
Tips & common mistakes
In the app — learn while you logBSslide is the mirror image of FSslide. Since your back faces the direction of travel, sending your head and eyes ahead first is the top priority. Build the habit of checking the exit over your shoulder so your view never suddenly vanishes.
Scary, poor visibility → your back faces forward and your head lags so your line of sight disappears → as you turn 90 degrees, immediately look at the exit over your left shoulder (right shoulder for goofy).
