Ski FS Slide.
FSスライド
横向きでレール/ボックスをスライド(フロントサイド)
How to
Step by stepApproach the box or wide rail straight on, at a slow-to-medium speed — just fast enough not to stall.
It is the same entry as a 50-50 (riding straight across).
Just before you get on, fix your eyes on the far end (the exit) of the box.
Looking down at the near edge makes you tense up and jam at the entry, so look through to where you are going.
Right before you ride on, extend your knees lightly to lift your body, and during the brief moment your skis go light, rotate only your lower body 90 degrees to the frontside.
Turn your hips and both knees sideways while keeping your shoulders facing the direction of travel. Splitting the lower body from the upper body makes it much easier to stop right at 90 degrees instead of over-rotating.
Set your skis fully sideways across the box and lay the whole sole of your boots flat onto the surface.
Do not tip toward your toes or your heels — keep the bases flat. If either edge catches, you will hook and fall, so this is the most important point.
Keep your weight centered evenly over both skis (around the arch of your foot), bend your knees slightly to stay low, and slide across sideways.
Line both skis up over the middle of the box and check from the corner of your eye that they are not hanging off.
Just before the exit, slowly rotate your hips and knees back 90 degrees to face forward again — the reverse of how you entered.
Once your skis point down the fall line, bend your knees to absorb the landing as you come off, and roll straight back into normal skiing.
Tips & common mistakes
In the app — learn while you logThe FS slide is a basic jib trick, the next one to learn after the 50-50. Start on a low, wide box. Rails are narrow with little room for your feet, which makes them much harder.
You hook up and fall forward the instant you get on → one of your edges is engaged. Lay the whole boot sole flat and ride on without tipping toward your toes or heels.
