Powder 8.

1. Stand side by side at the top of the slope and agree out loud on the size of each arc (how far you'll travel sideways per turn) and a speed slow enough that you won't stall.

   If you don't share the pace, your tracks won't cross.

2. Start together.

   One rider keeps weight slightly back and sends the hips toward the toe (toe edge) to start a toeside turn. The other mirrors it, dropping the center of mass toward the heel (heel edge) for a heelside turn. In powder, keeping weight back (about front foot 4, back foot 6) lifts the nose above the snow and stops it from diving.

3. Toward the apex of the arc, bend both knees deeply (close to 90 degrees) to sink the board into the snow and let the snow's resistance hold you up.

   Look ahead to the exit of the arc — the point where your track meets your partner's.

4. As you leave the arc, gently extend the knees and hips to lift your body and momentarily release the weight from the board (unweighting).

   The board only floats during that release, which makes it easy to swap directions. If both riders switch at the same instant, the rhythm stays matched.

5. Right after unweighting, send the hips to the opposite edge and press back onto the rear foot again to carve the opposite arc.

   Alternating toe and heel left to right makes the two tracks cross on the slope and links the figure-8.

6. At every switch, glance at your partner's nose and fine-tune your arc size to match.

   If only you go wide, the crossing point drifts — match the smaller arc to stay safe.

7. All the way down, keep a steady tempo of press → unweight → switch, stacking symmetrical arcs.
