How to

Step by step
  1. Get your indoor boardslide solid first.

A lipslide approaches the feature from the near side and crosses it behind your back, so the board spins the opposite way from a boardslide. Lock that difference in before you try it.

  2. Approach straight at the feature from the near side.

Indoors the slope is gentle and slow, so hold a steady speed that won't stall you, and put your eyes on the exact spot you want to land on.

  3. Ollie just before the feature.

Bend your back knee deep, load the tail, and pop off your toes to lift the board. Since the gentle slope won't carry you across, get real height so your arc clears the feature.

  4. Turn the board 90 degrees in the air.

Lead with your shoulders and hips opening across the feature (the opposite way from a boardslide) and let the board follow underneath. Open the shoulders first and the board catches up on its own — don't kick it around with your legs alone.

  5. Set the board straight across the feature (90 degrees) right over the top.

Weight even between front and back foot, center of mass stacked over the middle of the board, knees softly bent so your hips sit above the board. Keep both edges flat and slide on the base.

  6. At the end of the feature, swing the board back to your direction of travel and land flat on the snow.

Keep your ankles neutral so no edge catches, and absorb the landing with your knees.

Tips & common mistakes

Tips

Indoors the slope is gentle and slow, so the height of your ollie is what carries you sideways across the feature. A low pop drops the board short and catches the edge.

COMMON MISTAKE

You catch short and can't clear the feature → the ollie is too low and you don't move sideways enough. Bend the back knee deeper, load the tail harder, get height, then cross.

The rest of the tips, fixes for each mistake, and what to try next are in the app — learn them while you log. Intermediate+ tricks are for Members.
