How to
Step by stepFirst do repeated jumps in the center of the trampoline and confirm you land in the same spot every time with steady height.
If this is shaky your landing point drifts mid-rotation, which is dangerous, so lock it in as a prerequisite.
Bend your knees deeply on the sink, pressing the trampoline with the whole sole (center of the foot).
Keep your weight in the middle of the foot, not back on the heels, and your torso nearly vertical. The goal is to push straight up, not to fall backward.
As you press the bed back, extend your legs and jump straight up.
At the same time swing both arms up from front to overhead and start arching your chest to bring your torso back. The arm swing plus chest arch is what creates the backward rotation. Don't drop just your head or you'll strain your neck — arch from the chest, not the chin.
Once you lift off and near the top, pull both knees to your chest and grab the front of your thighs/shins with both hands to make yourself compact.
The amount of spin is set the instant you leave the bed and can't be added in the air, but the smaller you make your body the faster you turn on that same spin. So you tuck here, where you want maximum rotation speed.
Send your eyes ceiling -> back wall -> trampoline bed, in that order.
Leading with your eyes in the spin direction lets your head and body follow, smoothing the rotation.
When you've turned about three-quarters and the bed comes into view, release the tucked arms and legs and extend your body.
Opening up slows the spin and prevents over-rotating.
Land flat-footed in the center of the bed, bend the knees to sink and absorb the rebound, and come to a stop.
For the first several attempts wear a safety harness on your waist or have a spotter support your hips.
Keep repeating with assistance until you have a feel for the height and amount of rotation.
Tips & common mistakes
In the app — learn while you logMake the order "jump high straight up first, then rotate backward," not "jump backward." More height buys more time to complete the flip and prevents landing on your head.
Under-rotating and landing on your back → not enough height, or a shallow, slow tuck. Fully extend the legs on takeoff for height, and pull the knees to the chest at the top to get small and fast quickly.
