Pillow Line.
ピローライン
雪の積もった岩の上を飛び移って滑走
How to
Step by stepBefore you drop in, trace the run of pillows (snow-capped mounds over rock or stumps) from the top and lock in your whole line: where you'll land, where you'll hop next, all the way to the bottom.
Hesitating mid-line means you can't stop and you collapse, so have the full picture first
Enter from the top of a pillow at a slow, just-don't-stall speed.
Look one pillow ahead, not at the one under you. Only pick sections where the snow is deep and no rock is showing underneath
At the crest of a pillow, ride 50:50 on both feet and bend your knees slightly to load.
Keep your hips stacked over the board and your upper body tall as you spot the next pillow
As you leave, don't pop hard — just extend the knees for a soft, light unweight.
In soft snow a hard push sinks the board, so think about matching where you'll land rather than adding speed
Land by setting the whole base softly onto the face of the next pillow.
Keep your legs fairly extended just before the base touches so you have room to bend, then bend hard to 90-100 degrees with your legs staying engaged the instant it contacts, folding at the hips so your legs absorb over a long travel
For that landing moment only, shift to 60 on the back foot and keep your hips over or just behind the board, so the nose doesn't dive into the soft snow
Once you've absorbed, extend the legs into the next hop and repeat steps 3-6 down the line.
Set a speed per section: carry speed across wide gaps, hold it to a small hop across tight ones
Tips & common mistakes
In the app — learn while you logAlways look one pillow ahead. Staring at your feet leaves your body late to the landing, which causes both over-shooting and stalling
A hard jolt hits your legs on every landing and your knees ache → your knees stay straight or barely bend at contact, so they can't absorb the hit → keep your legs fairly extended just before the base touches so you have room to bend, then bend hard to 90-100 degrees with your legs staying engaged and fold at the hips, catching the load over a long travel
