Brush 50-50.

1. Approach in a straight line so the board is perfectly parallel to the feature (box or rail).

   On a gentle slope, use a slow, steady speed that is just fast enough not to stall. Riding on at an angle catches an edge, so your entry angle decides the whole run.

2. Three or four steps before the feature, shift your eyes to the far end (the exit) of the feature.

   Looking down at the near edge makes you tense up and lean forward as you ride on.

3. Just before the feature, lightly extend both ankles to unweight and float the board up onto the surface.

   You don't need a big pop — a small ollie, just enough to clear the lip, is plenty.

4. Once on, keep your knees softly bent (around 30 degrees) and stack your hips directly over the midpoint between your front and back feet.

   Spread your weight evenly across the balls of the feet and the heels, tipping toward neither the toe edge nor the heel edge, to keep the base flat. The brush surface is more slippery than snow, so even a slight edge will wash the board sideways fast.

5. Across the feature, keep your eyes locked on the exit and your upper body square down the line.

   Holding your shoulders parallel to the board keeps your body from rotating so you slide straight.

6. At the exit, bend your ankles and knees a little deeper to match the lip and absorb the landing onto the brush with your legs.

   After touchdown, keep your hips centered between both feet and ride out flat.
