  1. Stand at the edge of a steep slope or cliff, check below

  2. Point nose downhill, set tail board's edge on the snow edge

  3. Shift weight to front foot, enter slope nose-first

  4. Start edging the moment you enter the slope

  5. First turn must control speed reliably
